Y2K Upgrade Your Telemanagement Software
Is your telemanagement software ready for the new millennium?
Why should you upgrade?
Unless you have been living in another galaxy, you are aware of the computer bug that will present itself when we reach year 2000. Most experts believe there is no need for doom and gloom forecasts. In fact, most financial institutions, government agencies, airlines and health care professionals have taken steps to quash the Y2K bug. However, the pesky bug may still be found in countless computer hardware, operating systems (i.e. DOS, Windows 3.1) and software.
Where do I stand?
For 10 years now, Resource Software International Ltd. (RSI), has been the proud developer of the TeleCOST Voice & Data Management System for DOS, TeleCOST for Windows 3.1 and TELECOST SUITE 2000 and SHADOW SUITE 2000.
We have made every effort to keep our valued customers up-to-date with current and accurate software. In keeping with this commitment, RSI has made all of its call accounting applications Y2K ready. (TeleCOST Voice & Data Management System for DOS, TeleCOST for Windows 3.1, TELECOST SUITE 2000 and SHADOW SUITE 2000).
Does this mean I will get a free update?
All of our DOS customers which subscribe to our Extended Annual Maintenance Program will get a free upgrade to TeleCOST or SHADOW Voice & Data Management for DOS-Y2K and all of our Windows customers will get a free upgrade to TELECOST SUITE 2000 or SHADOW SUITE 2000 (already shipping).
Can I stop worrying about my call accounting system if I have Y2K TELECOST or SHADOW software?
Not necessarily. Many customers using our DOS system are utilizing outdated non-compliant hardware (i.e PC 386). You must consult your hardware vendor for Y2K status. Customers using Windows 3.1 or 95 should consult Microsoft for a Y2K statement.
What is the negative impact of not upgrading my system?
There are countless possibilities depending on computer hardware and telephone systems. Certainly, telephone call billing could be impacted by inaccurate date calculations resulting in erroneous charges, markups or discounts. if you are unsure of your system, please contact your equipment vendor.
Should I upgrade from DOS to Windows?
RSI recommends that you migrate your system to Microsoft Windows 98 or better on a Y2K-approved computer. For a small upgrade fee, you will enjoy the extra benefits of the Windows environment and be worry-free from Y2K bugs!
